Criteria
Eligibility For Admission:
Admission to the HFA is open to Senior Citizens, 60 years and above, including Members of the Mangalorean Milagres Society, both male and female of Indian origin, professing the Roman Catholic faith, who is/are unable to reside alone due to old age, loneliness, fear of security and/or absence and/or neglect by children, siblings and/or other family members to look after them, their needs and requirements.
Ineligibility For Admission:
Senior citizens suffering from terminal, complex or any other type of communicable/infectious disease, or persons of unsound mind and/or mental illness, and/or addicted to illicit liquor or psychotropic substances, drug abuse, physically handicapped etc. and/or those who have been convicted by any Court of law involving moral turpitude or sentenced to imprisonment, or those against whom any proceedings under criminal laws are pending in any Court of law for heinous crime or against whom warrant or summons, has been issued in criminal proceedings, are not eligible for admission to the HFA. Relaxation of this condition may be granted by the Society at its sole discretion, on case to case basis.
Admission Procedure:
Any person/s desirous of taking admission to the HFA, shall apply in the prescribed form along with a declaration to abide by the rules and regulations of the HFA, as may be framed from time to time
Admission form shall be accompanied by two (2) recent coloured passport sized photographs duly signed by the applicant and an undertaking from two close relatives /known persons.
The Applicant should furnish, to the satisfaction of the Management, the following documents in Original together with two self-attested photocopies of such documents:
- Baptism Certificate
- Aadhar Card
- Letter from the Parish where the applicant belongs to
- Details of Applicant’s spouse, if married, including his/her name, surname, date of birth, marriage certificate, contact telephone number, etc.
Every Applicant applying for admission to the HFA, shall be accompanied, at the time of admission, by a person who is none other than his/her near relative, failing which he/she shall produce a consent letter/credentials from such near relatives like spouse, children, siblings, who have attained age of majority and are competent to contract and such letter/credentials shall bear the signature, full address, contact and telephone numbers for the purpose of being contacted by the HFA in case of any emergency/change in rules, etc.
If the Applicant is an Orphan, without any of the mandatory documents as stated above and as required by the HFA, then in such case, a recommendation from the Parish Priest where the Applicant generally resides, is the minimum mandatory requirement for consideration by the HFA.
Discount and/or waiver of monthly fees in deserving cases, will be at the sole discretion of the Society.
The HFA may also admit Applicants on the recommendation of the Parish Priest where the Applicant resides.
The mode of admission will be in accordance with the assessment reached by the Society on the basis of the details provided in the Admission Form.
Admission will be subject to the terms and conditions mentioned herein and the observance, fulfillment and performance of the same by the Applicant. The Society may reject any admission, without assigning any reason.
The admission to the HFA will be provisional for an initial period of 90 days. The management reserves the right to confirm/deny admission after 90 days of living at the HFA, without assigning any reason whatsoever and/or compensation.
The Society may refuse admission to any Applicant whose character or antecedents are not satisfactory or for any other reason which the management deems fit.
Any Applicant/Resident who has obtained admission by means of false representation of any kind whatsoever, or who may have been found to have indulged in indiscipline/misconduct, shall be dismissed from the HFA.
No Resident shall be re-admitted to the HFA when once he/she has been dismissed from the HFA.
The decision of the Society shall be final and binding upon the Applicant.
